Be Careful with Your Camera Background

Before starting a video chat, check what's visible behind you. Remove or hide:

• School or workplace logos
• Valuables that might attract unwanted attention

Trust Your Instincts

If a conversation feels uncomfortable, wrong, or creepy, trust that feeling. Use the "Next" button immediately to disconnect. You don't owe anyone your time or attention.

Report Inappropriate Behavior

If someone violates community guidelines – being harassing, explicit, or threatening – use the Report button immediately. Provide as much detail as possible to help our moderators take appropriate action.

Don't Accept External Invitations

Be wary if someone asks you to:

• Switch to another chat app or website
• Click on suspicious links
• Download software or files
• Visit their social media profiles

These requests often lead to scams, phishing, or malware. Politely decline and move on.

Recognize Common Scams

Be alert for these red flags:

• Romance Scams: Someone quickly declaring love or affection, often followed by requests for money.
• Phishing: Messages claiming you've won something or need to verify your account, with links to fake login pages.
• Extortion: Threats to share private images or information unless you pay.
• Investment Schemes: Unsolicited offers to invest in cryptocurrency or other schemes.

If it seems too good to be true or makes you uncomfortable, it probably is.

Use Strong Device Security

Keep your device protected:

• Use updated antivirus software
• Keep your browser and operating system current
• Use a strong, unique password for your device
• Consider using a VPN for additional privacy

Set Personal Boundaries

Decide beforehand what topics you're comfortable discussing and what you won't engage with. It's okay to end a conversation if someone crosses a line. You are in control.
